ASDA: Scan&Go

A campaign to get more ASDA shoppers to give Scan & Go, a go.

6-sheet billboards, encouraging shoppers by playfully highlighting the 3 key messages - checkout faster, pack as  you go and tot up as you shop.
 

Background

Scan & Go was a relatively new service that enables customers to scan and pack their items as they move around the supermarket, before simply paying at a self service checkout to complete their shopping. The idea is to make shopping quicker and easier for customers, however uptake has been slow. ASDA wanted more people to give Scan & Go - a go.

Research shows that when people try the service they love it. It’s just the initial change that’s tricky. So I created a campaign for ASDA that individually highlighted each of the key benefits of the service, by playfully juxtaposing photography with a barcode device.

The campaign visuals featured across a range of collateral, including car park banners and billboards, around the estate of the majority of ASDA stores in the UK, starting from the launch in January 2020. It was also featured heavily across all of the ASDA social media channels.
